UNTITLED (CONSCIOUSNESS)
Frustrated with the volatility of our present state and the continual pressure of distancing the physical self into a digital environment, initial inspirations come from exploring what physically defines the human. A constant awareness of the physical nature of the self and its fragility excites critical thought to the commonalities we all share. This exploration is rooted in flesh and blood as aesthetic and how it can be brought outwards to deconstruct and reveal the internal human form. Blood functioning as a fluid that is common among all humans and animals acts as a source of developing a foundation of understanding. Revealing the internal components of the human form, as well as exploring the bounds of silhouette through controlled excess, this collection aims to push contemplation within the viewer.
With a focus on using natural dyes and fibers, this collection is meant for those wishing to broaden their scope of the human experience while honoring the sanctity of nature.
